She received a BS in Education from Marian College of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, earned an MEd in Curriculum Direction from De Paul University, Chicago, and became a Certified Chaplain in 1988. Sister Ann was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Lidwina Walters, her brothers Herbert, Delbert, Marvin, Daniel and Patrick and her sisters Dolores Giebler and Sister Rose Walters, CSA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Marian College of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1969. She was one of six children including one boy and five girls. She later was a clinical social worker for three years and director of materials management for six years at St. Agnes Hospital.
